Framingham Resident Evan Panahi Earns Highest Academic Awards at MassBay Community College Commencement
Framingham resident Evan Panahi received the Divisional Award from the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at Massachusetts Bay Community College’s 50th Commencement Exercises on Thursday May 24th.
Mr. Panahi earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.929 and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science.
Divisional Awards are presented to the student who achieved the highest grade point average in each of the College’s five academic divisions: Health Sciences; Humanities; Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics; Social Sciences & Professional Studies; and Transportation & Energy. These awards consist of a plaque and an honorarium of $250 provided by the MassBay Foundation.
After graduating from high school in his native Kansas, Mr. Panahi worked a variety of jobs. It wasn’t until he took an Introduction to Logic class at the University of Massachusetts, Boston that he found his passion. That class sparked an interest in computer science for Mr. Panahi. He currently holds an internship at a software company and intends to transfer to Boston University’s Metropolitan College.
