5 Things: Farmers' Market Today; Dems Come to Town

A field office is opening on Worcester Street. Maybe you'll see it while driving to or from the Farmers' Market.

1. The Massachusetts Democratic Party announced yesterday the opening of 16 field offices around the Commonwealth; one of these offices is at 280 Worcester Rd. (eastbound side of Rte. 9) in Framingham. According to a press release, the offices will serve as local hubs for campaign and party staff and grassroots volunteers who will use the spaces to stage canvasses, phone banks and other grassroots activities.

2. Let's keep those nominations coming! You've probably noticed on our homepage a story that shows you all of the categories for which we're seeking Readers' Choice nominations. From now until July 9, we need your help compiling a list of "best" places in and around Framingham to put to a vote. Today, we're highlighting "best auto mechanic." So far, we have one nomination. Who else has one? Click here and take a second to post a comment nominating the best auto mechanic in or around Framingham.

3. Boston Globe investigative reporter Scott Helman will discuss his book, The Real Romney, at 7 p.m. at the Framingham Public Library.

4. Framingham's Farmers' Market is today, and every Thursday through October, at Framingham Centre Common. Will you be there?

5. Registrations are being accepted for the second annual Youth Football Camp sponsored by the Framingham State University football program. The camp will be held July 23-26, 5 to 7:30 p.m. (rain or shine) at FSU's Maple Street Field. The non-contact camp is open to players ages 8-15. Campers will work with college coaches and players to improve their skills through a variety of drills. The cost is $60. If interested, email arosenbaum@framingham.edu.

Please note: I just corrected the address for the Mass Democratic Party field office, which is at 280 Worcester Rd., on the eastbound side of Route 9. A press release from the Mass Dems had a different address and a local Democratic Town Committee member notified us of the correction. Thanks!

Forget the DNC address the really important thing is the safety concerns about the farmers market. Please move it to Oak St. like it was last year; much safer.
