5 Things You Need To Know: Aug. 18

From the Farmers Market to a Klezmer concert there is something for everyone today.

1. will set up on the Village Green at Edgell Road and Vernon Street from noon to 5:30 p.m. The market features produce from local farms, a seafood vendor, a beef merchant, fresh sweet kettle corn and fresh baked breads.

2. Late Season Container Gardening at , Hemenway Rd., 10 a.m. to noon. Discover native plants that carry color, texture and form into the fall and learn tips on design, maintenance and over-wintering. Then assemble and plant your own container that you brought with you. Containers and plants are available at a discount for class participants. Class fee of $30 (members) $36 (non-members) includes potting mix, fertilizer and mulch..

3. The Planning Board meets in the Blumer Room of Memorial Building at 7:30.

4. Plan on a busy night at the from 7 to 8 p.m. The Job Search Discussion Group with Joan Kennedy will convene in the Crafts room. At the same time, Book Bingo will be in the J Craft Room for kindergarten and up children. Prizes, laughs, and best of all, books while learning about many of the books the library has to offer.

5. and Adult Summer Reading Finale: A Celebration, 7 p.m. at the Main Library, Costin Room. A festive evening featuring the Adult Summer Reading program participants raffle and a Klezmer concert. The event is open to all. A celebratory concert of Klezmer, cantorial, Hasidic and gypsy music will be performed by violinist Yaeko Miranda Elmaleh, vocalist Lisa Jacobs and pianist Michael McLaughlin. Top off the evening with ice cream donated by Ben & Jerry’s Natick Scoop Shop.
