5 Things You Need To Know Today: April 2

Burlington Selectmen are scheduled to interview two of Framingham's four finalists for Town Manager for the Burlington Town Administrator position tonight.

 

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. Tomorrow, April 3 is election day in Framingham. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Framingham Patch will have an article on everything you need to know up later.

2. Free Yoga Class for Veterans at 6 p.m. at Edwards Church taught by Eve Agush Costarelli.

3. Framingham's three state representatives (Tom Sannicandro, Chris Walsh and Tom Conroy) along with Framingham's state senator Karen Spilka are inviting residents to a budget priorities event tonight at 7 in the Ablondi Room in the Memorial Building.  Residents are encouraged to come with their budget priorities for delegation to hear. The forum comes in advance of the release of the Massachusetts House of Representatives budget on April 11. Once the House budget is released, legislators have about one week to file amendments. To find more information on the budget in advance of the meeting, residents are encouraged to visit browser.massbudget.org, which allows users to search current and past budgets by line item or key word or phrase or to visit malegislature.gov/budget for information on the budget process.

4. Framingham High boys  volleyball team will match up against Newton North High School at 4 p.m. at Framingham High.

5. Burlington Selectmen are scheduled to interview two of Framingham's four finalists for Town Manager for the Burlington Town Administrator position tonight at 6. Burlington Selectmen are interviewing Ashland Town Manager John Petrin and Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce President Robert Halpin. Framingham Selectmen begins interviews for its Town Manager position Wednesday, with Halpin. Longmeadow Town Manager Robin Crosbie is scheduled for Thursday. Ronald San Angelo, a former mayor and Connecticut state representative, is scheduled for April 10 and Petrin is scheduled for April 11.
