5 Things You Need To Know Today: Feb. 11

The Framingham High boys varsity hockey team will skate against Newton North High tonight at 5 at Loring Arena.

 

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. The main Framingham Library is hosting a Valentine’s Day open craft from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. And the McAuliffe branch library is holding its Drop-In Valentines Day craft from 10 a.m. to noon.

2. Framingham Taxpayers Association is holding an emergency meeting today at 12:30 p.m. at the main Framingham Library.

3. Tonight is the final performance of 42nd Street at Walsh Middle School. More than 100 students are in the show that starts at 7. Tickets, $10, may be purchased in advance online at www.ticketstage.com. Seats are assigned this year. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. Framingham Patch attended last night's performance and will publish a slideshow by Monday.

5. Tonight is the largest fundraiser for the Mission Fund at St Andrew's Episcopal Church. Karaoke night starts at 6:30 and ends at 11 p.m. $5 donation per person/$20 per family maximum. The first-hour is family-friendly and youths get priority to sing. It costs $1 per person to sing, with maximum $5 per group. There is an optional dinner option too, featuring sloppy Joe's.
