4. A Southern New England AAA survey of prices in the Commonwealth found that self-serve, regular unleaded averaged at $3.59 per gallon, which is 14 cents higher than a week ago. "Prices locally are up 14 cents over the past month, but haven’t increased as quickly as they did this time last year," reads the release. "The current price is seven cents above the national average for self-serve unleaded of $3.52. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $3.49."
