5 Things You Need To Know Today: Jan. 23

Governor unveils his budget, Framingham voters will have a choice in April, Flyers and Mustang hockey action and MCAS explained all featured in today's column.

 

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. Voters: you will have a choice at the polls in April. There are three individuals running for two seats on the Framingham Board of Selectmen and four individuals running for two seats on the Framingham Planning Board. 2. Framingham High girls varsity hockey team will skate against Norwood at 4 p.m. at Loring Arena. Admission $5.

3. Marian High varsity hockey team will skate against Weston High at 7 p.m. at Loring Arena.

4. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is scheduled to file his Fiscal Year 14 budget proposal this afternoon.

5. Framingham Public Schools will hold an MCAS Information Night in the Framingham High library at 7. Topics to be addressed by presented by Sarah Guernsey, the school system's student data coordinator: What is the current structure of the MCAS? How do I interpret my child’s MCAS score report? How can I use this information to better help my child? How can I help my student be ready for this year’s MCAS?
