5 Things You Need To Know Today: Jan. 27

11th Annual Summer Camp Fair, skating show at Loring Arena, free Thai body yoga, Marian High had a Pink Out game and restaurant still closed all featured in today's column.

 

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. Today is the 11th Annual Summer Camp Fair at Lincoln-Sudbury High School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free. More than 80 camps will be offering information on day, overnight and travel programs for students in grades K-12. Parents and students will have the opportunity to meet and speak with representatives from these camps offering unique programs including travel, community service, arts, sports, academic enrichment and traditional camp options.

2. The Blazing Blades Synchronized Skating Teams, under the direction of  Danielle David, Lisa Sussman and Stacey Raffi, will hold a performance for the public as part of a sectional send off for its pre-juvenile line. The team is headed to Lake Placid, N.Y. on Thursday to participate in the US Figure Skating Synchronized Skating Eastern Sectional Championships! Skaters are from Ashland, Hopkinton, Southborough, Grafton, Douglas, Westborough and Framingham.

The public is invited to a skating performance today, Jan. 27 at 4:30 p.m. at Loring Arena.

3. Diosa Dance Yoga Health is offering free Thai Body Yoga at noon.

4. Yesterday, Marian High's hockey team held a "Pink Out" game, with all proceeds going to a local woman fighting breast cancer.

5. Samba Steak & Sushi was forced to close Friday because "our pipes burst due to cold weather," said the restaurant's owners. The restaurant is working on repairs. The restaurant will be closed today.
