Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. Today is the first Sunday of the month, so that means Drop Into Art at the Danforth Museum of Art. From 2-4 p.m. there will be tours guided by teen docents of the John Wilson exhibit, Eternal Presence, in addition to other exhibits throughout the museum. Families will enjoy hands-on activities related to Native American symbols and lots of fun and activities for artists of all ages.

2. Edwards Church is hosting an Introduction to Standing and Seated Tai Chi at 7 p.m.

3. Loring Arena is holding public skating at 2 p.m. $5 per person. Limited skate rental available.

4. The main Framingham Library is holding a free Sunday Concert featuring Tutti Bassi: Two Cellists Go For Baroque at 3:30 p.m.

5. Today is FREE lesson day at the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest. Between 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan 6 students can try a private lesson in piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, ukulele, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone or drums and tour the Arts Center. Reservations required by calling the PAC office at 508-875-5554. Walk-ins will be accommodated if any spaces left.
