5 Things You Need To Know Today: June 1 [VIDEO]

It's opening night for the Framingham Community Theater's production of Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple."

 

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. More than 1,200 tornadoes touch down in the U.S. annually, more than in any other country. Massachusetts may get two or three warnings a year, but a year ago today three tornadoes touched down in Western Massachusetts causing massive destruction.

2.  The Mystix plays a benefit show for Amazing Things tonight at 8 p.m.

3.  The Boltz Awards will be awarded at Framingham High tonight at 6.

4.  The main Framingham Library will host a free screening of the R-rated film The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989)  tonight at 7.

5. It's opening night for the Framingham Community Theater's production of  Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple." But this version you won't find Felix and Oscar but instead Florence Unger and Olive Madison. Show starts at 8 tonight. Performances are this weekend and next weekend at the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest.
