Congrats to the Framingham High Flyers boys lacrosse team, who defeated Marshfield 7-6 in double overtime

 

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. Congrats to the Framingham High Flyers boys lacrosse team, who defeated Marshfield 7-6 in double overtime yesterday, May 30. Junior Joe Igoe scored the game-winning goal with 27 seconds remaining in the second OT. Framingham will now play #1 ranked Duxbury, tomorrow, June 1 in Duxbury.

2. Today is the last day to submit art for the MetroWest Women’s Alliance and the United Way of Tri-County art contest. Girls in grade 6-12 are eligible to submit. The deadline was extended earlier this month. The winner will be announced at the 2nd Annual Ruby Slippers event on Sept. 27. 

3. Framingham Board of Assessors are scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the Memorial Building.

4. Students from Brophy Elementary, Barbieri Elementary and Wilson Elementary school who have been taking after-school instrumental music lessons with the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest will perform in a concert tonight at Wilson Elementary. Performance begins at 7 p.m.

5. Shop & Explore MetroWest through June 3. More than 100 retailers, restaurants, cultural institutions and recreational areas in 19 communities throughout the MetroWest region of Massachusetts will be holding scores of promotions and special events for visitors and local residents, sponsored by the MetroWest Tourism & Visitors Bureau.
