5 Things You Need To Know Today: Nov. 6

It's election day, schools are closed and more in today's column.

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. Today is election day. If you are not sure where to vote, click here. If you are not sure who is on the ballot, click here. For Framingham Patch's complete election guide, visit here.

2. As it is election day, Framingham Public Schools and other schools in town are closed. Many PTOs are holding bake sales, so stop by and pick up something while you vote.

3. Rather than getting embroiled in the politics of power, vote for a calm and stress free election day writes Framingham resident and Framingham Patch blogger Ingrid Peschke. Read her lastest blog post here.

4. Edwards Church is holding a Tai Chi class at noon, if you need some help to de-stress.

5. Tickets are on sale for a dance at Eagles Hall Saturday night, Nov. 10 to offset the cost of the 24th Annual Curtis Family Thanksgiving Dinner. Appetizers will be served and live music will be provided by Off the Hook band. Tickets $25 and can be purchased in advance or at the door. Organizers hope to sell 300 tickets. Tickets can be purchased at Maenzo Hair Salon at 440 Franklin St, Eagles Grill at 44 Park St. or by contacting Diane Lynch at 508-380-3637 or by email at lynchied@gmail.com.
