5 Things You Need To Know Today: Nov. 8

Update on road resurfacing projects on Edgell and Central, elementary schools released early today, trail hearing and free veterans aid workshops all featured in today's column.

 

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. It's Thursday. Framingham elementary school parents, it's an early release day. 

Looking for something to do with your child? Concider the free Early Release Day Craft program at the main Framingham Library at 3 p.m.

2. There is a public hearing tonight for the 25% design of the Framingham portion of the Cochituate Rail Trail at 7 in the Memorial Building. Construction of the trail, using federal and state funds, is scheduled for 2013.

3. Community Yoga at 9:30 a.m. at Edwards Church.

4. Free Workshop on Veterans' Aid & Attendance Pension Benefits at 2 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. at Heritage At Framingham.

5. The Framingham Department of Public Works Highway Division has rescheduled the installation of the Novachip surface treatment on Edgell Road (between Central Street and Water Street) and Central Street (between Haynes Road and Centennial Place) to Tuesday, Nov. 13. 

Traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan and potential detours.  All construction activities are scheduled to take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Expect delays while traveling in this area.
