Our daily morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Framingham Community Theatre will present three performances of Curtains, a musical comedy murder mystery at the Dennison Memorial Hall, Boston Church of Christ in downtown Framingham this weekend, including a performance at 8 tonight.

2. It's the end of the world as we know it ... again! A small sect of Christianity has revised their belief that the end of the world was going to be this past spring. It is now today, Oct. 21. Take our poll on the end of the world.

3. Hanson's Farm will host a haunted farm and hayride tonight and every and Saturday night in October from 7 to 10 p.m. A tradition in Framingham since 1993, the cost is $12 for adults and $10 children. Hanson's Farm has been a working farm since 1715.

4. Panache Coffee is holding another open mic event from 7-9 tonight. Coffee, tea, tunes and costumes. Performers are invited to wear costumes.
