Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. Marian High vs Keefe Tech football tonight at 7 at Bowditch Field.

2. The Flyers of Framingham High travel to Walpole to take on the Rebels in football action. Kickoff at 7 p.m.

3. The Kennedys will perform at Amazing Things Arts Center. The acoustic folk couple will take the stage at 8. Tickets are $18, $17 seniors and students, $15 members and $9 for children under age 12.

4. Stop into Fountain Street Fine Art gallery to view the latest exhibit Cross Town. Gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday.

5. Thursday was Hat Day for third grade students at McCarthy Elementary School. Students were asked to design a unique hat that tells something about themselves and wear it. Parents we'd love to see photos of your kids wearing their hats. Upload them here. Thanks to the Gelardi family for sending the photo of their daughter.
