5 Things You Need To Know Today: Sept 21 [VIDEO]

Today is the United Nations International Day of Peace. Center of Light in Framingham and the Framingham Interfaith Clergy Association has organized an event on the Town Green from 5 to 8 p.m. The public is invited.

 

Our daily morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.  

1. Today is the United Nations International Day of Peace. (Watch the video released by the United Nations.) Center of Light in Framingham and the Framingham Interfaith Clergy Association has organized an event on the Town Greenfrom 5 to 8 p.m. The public is invited. At 5 p.m., there will be an opening ceremony. At 5:30 p.m., there will be a peace parade around the green, led by the 'Peace Dove' made by youth in accord. From 6 to 7:30 p.m. there will be live music followed by prayers. From 7:30 to 8 p.m., the event will end with a candlelit vigil and closing prayers.

2. Walsh Middle and Fuller Middle schools will both hold open houses tonight at 7.

3. Marian High golf vs Lowell Catholic at 3:30 p.m. at Framingham Country Club.

4. Framingham Finance Committee meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Memorial Building.

5. Verizon Wireless, on Route 9 East, is holding a free workshop on HTC Trophy. During this workshop ask questions and learn how to customize your device, review Windows Live, how to set-up email accounts and social networking, have the Windows Phone 7 Hubs explained and more.
