AAA: Gas Prices Down 4 Cents

AAA Southern New England said prices locally are up 13 cents over the past month.

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down four cents this week, according to
AAA Southern New England, which has an office in Framingham off Route 9.

AAA’s March 4 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.729 per gallon, four cents less than a week ago. Prices locally are up 13 cents over the past month.

The current price is two cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.74. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $3.73.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 30 cents, from a low of $3.59 to a high of $3.89.

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week: If your vehicle’s engine does not need premium fuel, using anything other than regular is simply a waste of money.
