Thursday morning at rush police officers in Allston responded to a report of a bicyclist who had been involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer.
According to the Boston Globe, Christopher Weigl of Southborough was riding his bike on Commonwealth Avenue in the bike lane when the truck made a wide turn and the two collided causing a large commotion.
Weigl, who was born in Framingham, was an Eagle Scout who spent time volunteering at Baypath Humane Society with his brother, Dustin.
"Our hearts go out to the Weigl family. 23-year-old Chris, who was killed yesterday in a bike accident in Allston, was a tremendous friend to the shelter," the shelter posted on their Facebook "He not only helped us publicize the annual 5K, but his brother, Dustin, built our beautiful outdoor catwalks and perches. They were both Eagle Scouts."
According to Weigl's portfolio website he spent time studying and taking pictures around the world, Cambodia, New Zealand and Italy.
"Photojournalism is a ticket to curiosity, a way to explore the world, meet people doing interesting things and share their work with others," he wrote.
