Whiz Kids’ Accomplishments: This amazing group of seventh graders meets twice a month at St. George’s to plan and organize their charitable endeavors.  Twice a month, these kids pack bag lunches for the homeless.  Additionally, they collect aluminum can flip tabs, that get donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Springfield. The flip tabs get recycled and the proceeds fund mission of the house. (Group member Eddie Lynch collected 8 pounds of flip tabs all by himself!)

But this group hasn’t stopped there.  They decided for themselves to work on a larger project.  They are currently collecting donations and assembling 60 backpack kits for the homeless.  These kits will contain a backpack, a sweatshirt or blanket, warm socks, a water bottle and a bag lunch.

Whiz Kids’ key to Awesomeness:  This group of kids is truly caring and generous.  They thought of the backpack project themselves and have started assembling them.  They also want to distribute these kits themselves to the homeless on Boston Common through the Generic Ministry Program (sometime in late April or early May).
