Framingham To Celebrate Earth Day Saturday

Attendees are asked to bring old florescent (and CFL) light bulbs, rechargeable and button batteries, unwanted bicycles and eyeglasses for recycling.

Framingham will celebrate Earth Day Saturday with several events throughout the community.

The main event is the 2 sponsored by the Framingham Sierra Club, on the from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

More than 75 vendors will be at the free event, including local artisans, environmental organizations, health, wellness & fitness, eco-home improvement and farms.

Attendees are asked to bring their old florescent (and CFL) light bulbs, rechargeable and button batteries, unwanted bicycles and eyeglasses for recycling.

The environmentally-friendly festival also will be a ‘zero-waste’ event, using recycling and composting to manage discarded materials.

There will also be live entertainment. The Elderly Brothers take the stage at noon and Something With Digby performs at 1 p.m. and  Adam & Eve at 2 p.m.

The Environmental Club will have games, crafts and face painting for kids.

There will also be a Walk the Labyrinth from noon to 3 p.m.
