Framingham DPW operations manager Michael Lavin Jr. has been offered the superintendent of public works position for the Town of Wrentham.
Framingham Department of Public Works operations manager Michael Lavin Jr. has been offered the superintendent of public works position for the Town of Wrentham.
Wrentham Selectmen last week voted 4-1, with Selectman Michael Carroll dissenting, reported The Sun Chronicle.
Lavin was one of three finalists. The candidates were selected by a search committee, which was convened in March. The other finalists were Swansea town engineer Modris Pukulis and former Agawam public works director Anthony Silva reported Wrentham Patch.
"Right off the bat for me, Lavin showed a lot of leadership ability," Selectman Charles Kennedy said, reported The Sun Chronicle
"I think he will be a great addition and be a breath of fresh air and accomplish what needs to be accomplished," Botaish said.
Lavin would replace Irving Priest, who is retiring the end of the month, according to the Wrentham Patch.

He's a good man, sorry to see him go. I'm sure he's not going to be the last one to jump ship.

Kevin P. Crotty Hopefully he will take it easy on the sauce , so he won't need someone to drive him around like he did in Framingham while a DUI case was pending .
