Family Debris Transformed Into Art

Worcester artist Lisa Barthelson's showcases prints from her Family Debris project at the Fountain Street Art Fine Art gallery through March 27. The gallery is open today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Worcester artist Lisa Barthelson started out as a painter, but her latest collection of work involves more than paint - it also includes throwaways from her family.

Barthelson's Family Debris is a mixed media project, that includes discarded junk recycled into art.

"Layered as it might be found in a landfill, the detritus offers a new avenue for experiencing what we work so hard to purchase and so effortlessly throw away," states the gallery description.
