UPDATED: Framingham Mom Killed in Head-on Crash
Laura Nichols, 35, of Framingham, was killed late Saturday after her car crossed into oncoming traffic on Fountain Street.
A 35-year-old Framingham woman was killed late Saturday after the car she was driving crossed the center lane on Fountain Street, triggering a head-on collision.
Laura Nichols was alone in her vehicle at the time of the crash, Framingham Police said. The collision was reported about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, near the intersection with Jodie Road.
Two people in the other vehicle were taken to Metro West Medical Center at Framingham Union with non-life threatening injuries, said Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Burns.
The cause of the crash was not immediately identified by police on Sunday.
Nichols was the mother of a 10-year-old daughter, her mother told The Boston Herald on Saturday. She was coming home from a friend's house at the time of the crash, her mother, Kathleen Kelly, told the newspaper.
Nichols' daughter is a fifth grade student at McCarthy Elementary School.

This is terribly depressing and sad she is only 35 and has a great future and family in her life !I think it will be good for the Framingham Community to learn the True Circumstances of her Accidental Misfortune resulting in tragic death of youthfulness !
How else can we learn our Lessons in Life and the Preservation of it ?No man is an Island Entire to itself, each is part of a Continent ! The death of each man/woman diminishes us all, ask not for whom the Bell Tolls, it does for thee and thine !

What a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
That is a tricky intersection. I've almost been hit a number of times taking a left on Jodie coming northbound from Ashland. The cars on the other side whip around there even though the speed limit is 30. I'm curious about the police report as I'm hoping we can learn something to prevent this from happening again.

My heart aches for her mother, and especially her ten-year old daughter. Losing your mother at any age is rough. I only hope her grandmother and other family & friends are there to give her the support she needs throughout her grieving process and beyond.
