Fetherston Ends U.S. Senate Campaign; Endorses Abington Republican

Citing the short turn-around time, inclement weather, and another Republican joining the race, Fetherston said he has chosen to support the candidacy of Michael Sullivan of Abington.

Jon Fetherston of Ashland said he has ceased obtaining the 10,000 certified signatures to be on the special election Republican primary ballot in April to be your next United States Senator.

Citing the short turn-around time, inclement weather, and another Republican candidate joining the race, Fetherston said he chose to do what is best for his supporters and Massachusetts, by fully supporting the candidacy of Michael Sullivan of Abington.

After conferring with several of Sullivan’s campaign leaders, Fetherston said in a press release he is asking all his supporters to help Sullivan obtain the required 10,000 certified signatures to be on the April 30 Republican primary ballot.

"Sullivan is the most qualified Republican candidate running due to his experience as a Massachusetts state representative, district attorney, U.S. attorney, and acting Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. This experience plus his integrity and energy make him an ideal Senator to represent Massachusetts," said Fetherston in a press release

Fetherston said he wanted to thank the many people who encouraged and supported him during his short U.S. Senate campaign.

I am not someone who normally supports Republicans, but Michael Sullivan is more than worthy candidate. Having grown up on the s. shore, I actually know him and his family and feel he has relevant experience as he served as the US Attorney for MA.
