FOLLOWUP REPORT: Student, 17, Struck School Bus Thursday

Framingham Police Department said a 17-year old female struck a school bus carrying Walsh Middle students Thursday.

Framingham Police said a female student, 17, driving a Subaru, struck the school bus carrying more than a dozen Walsh Middle students on Thursday.

Framingham Police Lt. Ron Brandolini said the drive of the vehicle drove through a stop sign and struck the bus on the driver's side.

Bus #37 needed to be towed from the scene, as the rear tire was flattened and there was damage to the driver's side of the bus, said a spokesperson for the bus company.

The driver and her passenger were both taken to MetroWest Medical Center for treatment, said Brandolini.

The driver's name was not released. Brandolini said the driver has not been cited, but the investigation is still pending.

The crash took place just before 3 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Grant and Lawrence streets. The bus driver and the Walsh Middle students on the bus were not hurt.
