Foundation for MetroWest announced today it distributed grants totaling $7,000 to Curtis Family Diner, St. Bridget’s Food Pantry, Hope Worldwide Food Pantry,  and Lucy & Joe’s Food Pantry for Frail Elders all in Framingham.

The grants were a portion of $55,000 awarded to food pantries throughout the MetroWest region from the Foundation’s English Family Fund and Herbert and Esther Atkinson Fund.

“Food pantries and service organizations from around Massachusetts continue to face unprecedented challenges,” said Judith Salerno, executive director of Foundation for MetroWest.  “The MetroWest region is no different and we are proud that we have been able to support the food pantries in Framingham as they work to fulfill the growing number of requests by families to help put a balanced meal on their tables.”

In 2011, the Foundation for MetroWest distributed approximately $600K throughout the region and has distributed more than $6.5M since its inception in 1995.
