The Framingham Conservation Committee has the funds to continue its war on invasive plants thanks to a joint grant awarded to the committee and the Wayland's Surface Water Quality Committee.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) announced that Wayland and Framingham will split a $16,000 grant, with $4,000 coming from each town and matching funds coming from the DCR.

"These funds are to continue the work to remove invasive aquatic plants from Lake Cochituate in Framingham, Wayland and Natick," an award letter reads.

According to an email from Mike Lowery, a member of the WSWQC, this is the fourth consecutive year Wayland and Framingham have received the grant.
