Framingham Battled Brush Fire Easter Morning

Framingham Fire Department was dealing with a brush fire early this morning near Potter Road.

 

Framingham Fire Department was battling a brush fire this morning around Potter Road just before 8 a.m.

Scanner reports had the fire beginning at 7:46 p.m. and was about 1.5 acres.

Framingham Fire has extinguished the fire in less than an hour, but Framingham and most of Massachusetts is still under a "red flag alert."

Issued by the National Weather Service, a "red flag" alert means fires that develop will have the potential to spread rapidly and outdoor burning is not recommended.

The elevated fire risk will stay in effect until about 6 p.m. today, as wind gusts are expected to be between 20-25 miles per hour and rain is not expected until later tonight.
