Framingham Growing

Latest U.S. Census numbers released by the Commonwealth has Framingham at 68,318 residents, the fifth largest community in Middlesex County.

 The latest U.S. Census numbers released by the Massachusetts Secretary of State's Office shows Framingham population rose by 2.10%.

Framingham now has 68,318 residents, an increase of 1,408.  The previous number was 66,910. 

Neighboring Ashland was one of the biggest growth towns in Middlesex County with a 13% increase from 14,674 to 16,593. Hopkinton also saw significant growth at 11.83 percent, going from 13,346 to 14,925.

Lincoln was one of the biggest losers in Middlesex County at 21%. The town went from 8,056 to 6,362.

The three largest communities in Middlesex County are Lowell, Cambridge and Newton. Framingham is the fifth largest in the county, after Somerville.
