Framingham Woman Arraigned on Vehicular Homicide Charges in Worcester

Yayra Dika, who Worcester Police said was talking on her cell phone on Nov. 22, when she struck Julio Oliveras, plead not guilty at her arraignment.

Worcester Police say a Framingham woman was talking on her cell phone while driving when she struck and killed a 60-year-old man crossing the street in November.

Yayra Dika, who was arraigned last week in Central District Court on charges of motor vehicle homicide while driving negligently, driving to endanger and failure to slow, plead not guilty, reported The Telegram & Gazette. Bail was set at $5,000.

Dika, 30, was ordered to surrender her driver's license and passport and refrain from driving.

Police report phone records show she was talking on her cell phone Nov. 22, when she struck Julio Oliveras, who died at the scene.

How about refraining her from talking on her cell phone....
Surrendering her passport? I wonder what her status is.
She pleaded NOT guilty???? I guess she didn't do it, her car did.
