Framinghan Teen Michael Eden Has Lost His Battle With Cancer

Keefe Tech and former McAuliffe Charter School had been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer in 2009. He was 15.

Framingham teen Michael Eden, 15, who had been battling a rare cancer, has died.

The Keefe Tech student, who had attended McAuliffe Regional Public Charter School, had been battling Rhabdomyosarcoma, a type of cancer where tumors develop in the muscles connected to the bones, since 2009.

The family had held a benefit for him last week at the Natick Am Vets.

Team IMPACT provided an opportunity for Eden to skate with the Bentley University hockey team, earlier this year.

Eden also had been active in Framingham Baseball.

Another fundraising event (for May 20 in Boston), had just been posted on Framingham Patch two days ago.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family!

Michael

Convinced I am, from what I’ve heard,
Your son was a great young man,
Smiles from above just means one thing
Michael’s in such good hands.

Spiritually he’s never departed,
Look around; there are plenty of signs,
I know for a fact he’s never left
Cause through you he continues to shine.

As I recently biked for cancer,
Thinking back I remember one thing,
I was blessed to have honored so many like Michael,
An angel with massive wings!

A son so dearly appreciated,
I could never describe what you’ve done,
You’ve created a bond like never before
That continues to hold so strong.

My thoughts go out to the family,
When in doubt don’t lose your faith,
I dreamt last night and I was told
That Michael would be ok

Ashes to ashes,
Dust to dust,
We really miss you Michael
It’s been real tough.

I truly believe in destiny,
The whole concept to me makes sense,
With a little prayer, and a little faith
In heaven we’ll meet again.

I’ll see you later, I have to go,
So please remember this,
Your family adores you with all their hearts
And you’re going to be dearly missed.

The bible says,
Trust in me, and I believe,
Oh heavenly father deliver this message
May he finally rest in peace.

My son from the Charter School was a friend of Michael's. I got to know Michael one year when I worked at his elementary school. We are very sorry for your loss. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. Michael was a wonderful boy and an inspiration to others.
