UPDATED: Framingham Man Struck Trying to Cross Route 30

The incident was not a hit & run, as earlier reported, as the driver did stop, said Framingham Police.

UPDATED: 8:45 p.m.

A Framingham man, 25, was struck trying to run between Shoppers World and Target on Route 30 during rush hour, said Framingham Police Lt. Ron Brandolini.

The man suffered a head injury, that was not life-threatening, said Brandolini. The man was alert and conscious. He was transported to MetroWest Medical Center.

A scanner report indicated a SUV hit the man and took off; but Brandolini said the driver, who is from Westfield, did stop.

The incident is uner investigation, said Brandolini.

No citations have been issued, said Brandolini.

An earlier Framingham Patch reort published the incident was a hit & run and that a dark sedan was headed towards Route 126, according to the police scanner. The scanner mentioned the vehicle would have front end damage and a broken windshield.

Hate to comment on stories like this....this poor guy! Probably hit by someone without a license or was drunk. It's why, even though our laws are strict, they aren't strict enough. Driving is not a right....it's a privlege!

Why do you assume it was someone driving without a license or drunk? Maybe it was someone texting? Or maybe the person crossing should have waited for a green light at a cross walk? Our laws should be stricter - like what? Installing breathalyzers into every vehicle? Maybe offering drivers licenses to all those who meet the age requirements so we can make sure all drivers are insured and qualified? Nope, that second option sounds way too sensible. Lets just keep making sure people are driving uninsured and unlicensed. Real realistic legislature at its best. Onwards.

Kira...just saw your reply. When this story went up last night on Patch , it was reported as a hit and run. That is why I made my comment. Ease off the caffeine huh??;
