Knitwear Designer, Framingham Native on Season 11 of Project Runway
Season 11 of Project Runway begins airing tonight on Lifetime at 8 for preview, 9 for first episode.
Joseph Aaron Segal, a Framingham native, who now lives in Providence, R.I. is one of the designers on season 11 of Project Runway.
Season premiere is tonight at 9 p.m. on Lifetime. Today, Jan. 24 also happens to be the designer's 31st birthday.
Segal is an adjunct professor at the Rhode Island School of Design in the textile department. He teaches part-time.
His full-time job is custom knitwear under the company names of JAS and Pretty Snake.
On the Project Runway page, there is a video of Segal giving a tour of the clothes in his closet.
"I've always been pretty crafty, but it was when I was encouraged to push my work further as a student at RISD that I realized I had designer potential," Segal told Project Runway.
Segal told the TV show his strengths as a designer are being a "risk taker, unconventional thinker and material exploration." His weakness: "Sometimes I make stuff that's just too strange."
