UPDATED: Man Hit Over the Head With Steering Wheel Locking Tool

Man taken to Boston Hospital; Framingham Police reported to have suspect in custody.

 

UPDATE 10:15 a.m.

Framingham Police arrested Rolando Abanales, 31, of 100B Taralli Terr of Framingham Sunday night about 11:30. He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, said Framingham Police Lt. Victor Pereira.

The victim, a man, 39, was hit over the head with a steering wheel locking mechanism, that was not recovered, said Pereira.

A man was hit over the head with a tire iron on 66B Beaver Park Road, just after 11 p.m. Sunday, according to reports.

Framingham Police and Framingham Fire repsonded to the serious assault.

A medical helicopter was requested, but couldn't fly to Framingham, due to weather conditions, according to a scanner report.

Report that Framingham Fire transported the man to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.

Framingham Police have a suspect in custody, according to a scanner report.

Editor's note: Scanner report had the assault initially at Beaver Circle Terrace. The Police log this morning indicated it took place on Beaver Park Rd. We have updated the article.
