Marlborough Man Charged With Stealing Purses in Framingham
A Marlborough man's mom tried to buy a bag of syringes with a credit card from one of the stolen purses, which led to the arrest of her son, according to Framingham Police.
John LaCroix, 22, of 13 Priscilla Dr. of Marlborough was arrested at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Walgreens, 624 Waverly St. He was charged with assault and battery of an elderly person and two counts of unarmed robbery.
Tuesday, just before 2:30 p.m., a woman told police when she was loading her purchases into her car in the Walgreen's parking lot, on Waverly Street, two teens stole her purse.
Just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, another woman said a man stole her purse on Temple Street in her apartment parking lot.
Police said LaCroix's mother on Tuesday attempted to use a credit card from one of the stolen purses to buy a bag of syringes at the Waverly Street Walgreens and was denied.
After an investigation, the woman who tried to use the stolen credit card was identified. She told police her son gave her the card after robbing a woman on Temple St. She also told police he was involved in a robbery at Walgreens, too. She told police she saw one of the purses, just after the robbery.
Police have not charged the mother with any crimes. LaCroix was to be arraigned in Framingham Thursday. Police are still investigating.
