Metro Credit Union Donates Harry Potter Books to Stapleton Elementary
Metro Credit Union donated 100 copies of Harry Potter and the Champer of Secrets to Stapleton Elementary School as part of the school's 4th Annual Harry Potter House Cup Challenge.
As part of its ongoing support of literacy, Metro Credit Union donated 100 copies of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets to the Mary E. Stapleton Elementary School.
The school held a week-long 4th Annual Harry Potter House Cup Challenge, where the entire school was involved. All students were assigned to one of four houses in the Harry Potter novels (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin) and the house with the most points at the end of the week would be declared the winner.
All week students earned points for good behavior and for their skills in games and activities related to Harry Potter.
At a special celebration in the school gym, Stapleton Principal William McDonald announced that Gryffindor was the winner, and that each pupil on the team would receive a copy of the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and a journal from Metro Credit Union.
“Literacy has always been a priority for Metro and we welcome additional opportunities to support programs like this that make learning fun,” said Charlene Bauer, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Community Relations.
