Organizer: "Blown Away" By the Generosity of Framingham Residents

Items can continue to be dropped off at 945 Salem End Rd until noon today, Nov. 10.

Brenda Crawshaw said she has seen a steady stream of cars in her driveway for the last 3 days.

Since Framingham Patch published an article letting Framingham know she was coordinating donations for New York/New Jersey victims of Super Storm Sandy, she said boxes after boxes and bags after bags and containers have been dropped off.

"I'm so blown away," said Crawshaw. "This is amazing. People are so incredibly generous. Framingham has really come through."

People can continue to drop off items at her home at 945 Salem End Rd. until noon today, Nov. 10. Then, the items will be transported to New York and New Jersey.

Crawshaw is working with a group called "Massachusetts - New York Relief Runs" to bring much-needed supplies. They're amassing supplies for the "poorest and hardest hit communities in New York and New Jersey."

What is needed right now are: boots, batteries (especially C & D), flashlights, hand/foot warmers, blankets, diapers, formula, baby food, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, deodorant, winter coats, socks, underwear, shovels and non-perishable foods.

She added that small games and toys for children would also be greatly appreciated.

Oh my LORD! We just spent three hours sorting and rebagging and packing a HUGE panel truck! Donations poured in overnight and all morning and we are just so astounded at the generosity in this community. There will be more trucks going down next week so you can check out http://massnyreliefruns.webs.com/about-us for up to date information on most needed items.

Thank you ALL who donated and who helped in my driveway this morning!
