Pancakes, Performances & Purim Carnival

Barnes & Noble in Shoppers World will hold a free Eric Carle storytime and activity Saturday at 11 a.m.

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week. You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.


1. BOY SCOUTS TROOP 12 PANCAKE BREAKFAST AND BAKE SALE

WHERE/WHEN:  Plymouth Church Dining Hall, Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon

WHY GO: Great way to start the day and help out the Boy Scouts!

PRICING:
$4 adults, $3 for seniors and children under age 12




2.THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR STORYTIME

WHERE/WHEN: 
Barnes & Noble, Saturday at 11 a.m.

WHY GO: 
Join in and celebrate Eric Carle with a national story time reading of his classic, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Related activities after story.

PRICING:
Free




3.   SCHEHERAZADE~ LEGEND OF THE ARABIAN NIGHTS


WHERE/WHEN:  Performing Arts Center, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

WHY GO: 
Escape to the ancient Arabian world, with this colorful PAC performance, directed by Susan McKie. Kids will be thrilled by the magic, mystery, revenge and comedy.  Features MetroWest children in grades 3-8.

PRICING:
  Adults $14, youth and seniors $12 -in advance ($2 more at the door)




4. SALAMANDER CELEBRATION


WHERE/WHEN:
Garden In The Woods,  Sunday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

WHY GO:  Children and their adult companions will learn about these shy little nocturnal creatures and have fun while doing so.There will be a puppet show, short slide show and craft ! Dress for the weather, because you will stroll to a vernal pool to look for salamanders and their eggs. You'll never know - one or two may be awake. Registration required.

PRICING:
  $9 members and $11 non-members




5. PURIM CARNIVAL

WHERE/WHEN:
Temple Beth Am , Sunday 1 to 3 p.m.

WHY GO: 
Fun for children of all ages. Celebrate Purim with Temple Beth Am in the Main Social Hall. There will be face painting, a beauty room, cupcake decorating, make your own sundae station, crafts, food and prizes!

PRICING:
No entrance fee. Game tickets and food for sale.
