With all the never ending construction around the Edgell area and the resulting ABJECT STUPIDITY I see there every day at least twice a day as I go through taking advantage og Chris' offer makes perfect sense. If there is some compelling reason why it has to be on the Common, why not move it to the other side like they did last year? It was SO much nicer over there with less road commotion.

People really do need to just get a grip on themselves driving through construction areas. Impatience and aggressiveness is just NOT going to get you there any sooner.

I agree with moving the market to the other side of the Common. I love having the market on the Common - it takes us back to the town's agricultural roots in this most historic setting.

I'm in. Maybe a farmers market would inspire someone to reopen the grocery story.

I think it also is up to everyone crossing the street to use the crosswalk. I know it is not the whole solution but everyone needs to help to make the area safer. I do like moving it to CJs. I just wish it was closer to Wayland because I can not get to the Common from work. Between traffic and work, it is impossible to get there.

what a wonderful idea to have the farmers market in Nobscot. The new built senior housing would be able to walk to it and perhaps it would be a boom for the local businesses! Brilliant idea!

We need MANY more crosswalks down edgel regardless, there are points on the road in which the sidwalk just ends and starts on the other side of the street, yet there is NO way to get across and no crosswalks within a logical distance for somebody walking

If the railroad conversion to a walking trail happens and the market is moved, it would link Framingham to Sudbury in a very safe way. People would be able to bike to the market safely. There are many opportunities available to create safe areas for leisure activities.

Yesterday my brother and I went to Salem to do some videoing... It's about the tie in between the towns Salem and Framingham, the witch trials etc..the reason why Salem Rd is Salem End Rd.

While there, we went downtown to the farmers market they hold on Thursday.
Very nice, no cars, there were two fellas singing and the kids were having a ball playing. Nice and cerebral.... That's how you do a farmers market.
Good food, music, people actually making it a destination.
You might want to go there and see for yourself, and you might want to incorporate some of their ideas into Framingham's Farmers Market.

totally agree. What comes to mind for me is Lexington and what the rail trail has done for them. Last time I was there, I brought a picnic and sat on the green and then afterwards went for a really nice long walk on the rail trail. Nobscot is a diamond in the rough.

Many of the crosswalks are so FADED... just getting some new, bright paint on them would help a ton. There is a crosswalk on Central Street at Wickford Road that is just about faded away. The one on Edgell Road near yesterday's accident is in the same condition. Both are already in dangerous, "unexpected" locations to drivers (not at an obvious four-way stop or traffic light) and both are very faded. I'm not a fan of the bright blue crosswalks I have seen in other towns, but they really do stand out.

I drove down it one day in a jeep (don't tell anyone) entered on Edgell Rd and drove all the way to back side Friendlys Ice Cream Sudbury.
Nice way to beat the traffic. No sure if you can do it now though...
Not to mentioned you'd probably be arrested...LOL
