Popular Nursery School Director Retires

Framingham Centre Nursery School Director Kay Byram has retired after 15 years; the school established a scholarship in her name for its Ready, Set, Go Kindergarten Summer class.

Kay Byram the Executive Director of Framingham Centre Nursery School has retired after 15 years.

Over her tenure at the school, she touched so many families' lives.

Her commitment and dedication to Framingham Centre has played an important role in the success of this organization. Her willingness to go beyond her expected duties and to always be there for the families in their time of need made her an invaluable asset to the school. Her experience and expertise will be greatly missed.

She joined the nursery school in 1997 and continued to grow and enhance a program that was first established in 1963.

Under her guidance highly qualified staff was hired and retained. The NAEYC Accreditation is a testament to the quality of the preschool program. Each child leaves being very well prepared for Kindergarten and the school enjoys an excellent reputation among Framingham Public School teachers.

Jacey Norton who has been working hand in hand with Byram as the Director for the past two years, will be leading the organization moving forward. She will continue to enhance and maintain a high quality preschool program and has already brought so many new ideas and energy to this organization.

In an effort to reach out to an underserved population, Framingham Centre Nursery School has established a scholarship fund in Byram's honor.

This scholarship is for the new Ready, Set, Go Kindergarten Summer Program. This program was designed in response to the need created by the number of children who enter kindergarten without any preschool experience, which has doubled from 12% to 24% over the last few years. It will enable children who would not otherwise have had the opportunity to participate in a preschool program to have a high quality preschool experience over the summer.

If you would like to make a donation to support this effort, please log onto our website: www.fcnsma.org.

The School is currently actively seeking scholarship recipients. Eligible students should be entering Kindergarten in the fall with limited or no pre-school experience. The School will also consider students who are in need of financial assistance. The scholarship will cover 50% of the tuition, please call Jacey Norton at 508-875-8260 for more information.
