State Rep. Chris Walsh said an event has been planned at Village Hall Saturday, Feb. 2 to honor the late Steve Orr, who died unexpectedly Monday. It starts at 10 a.m.

Attendees will be asked to share stories of Orr, who created Frambors, an online site for residents and the community. Orr also was very active in Framingham Town Government.

Walsh said he would have announced the event on Frambors, but the site Orr created has been down since yesterday. Work is being done to try to get it back up and running.

Residents have been paying tribute to Orr, posting thoughts of him and his contributions to Framingham, at this link.

Framingham Patch will have a tribute from more Framingham residents posted later.

Steve was an impressive citizen of Framingham. He dedicated many hours of time and service to the town meeting and various town committees to which he belonged. His expertise in various interests was unlimited, particularly his contribution to Frambors and the related technological industry. We will miss his pleasant attitude, his caring contribution to the Town to make it a better community and his willingness to debate the issues that we faced. Thank you, Steve. To Krystyne, his wife, our sincerest sympathy as you face the days ahead.

Such sadness. I worked with Steve at a couple of start-ups back in the mid-late 1990s. He was a an unforgettable character. As I grew to know him better, the more I appreciated his off-beat sense of humor and enormously big heart.

Steve was a very generous soul. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and understood him.

Steve was a strong supporter of Eastleigh Farm. He was a forceful contributor, with strong and well thought out positions on the things that affected Framingham most. I'll miss seeing him around. We all have benefited from the use of his Town wide discussion site.
