Residents Invite to Give Input on State Budget to Local Legislators Monday

Framingham's legislators are inviting residents to participate in a budget priorities meeting Monday, April 2 at the Memorial Building.

Framingham's three state representatives (Tom Sannicandro, Chris Walsh and Tom Conroy) along with Framingham's state senator Karen Spilka are inviting residents to a budget priorities event Monday, April 2 at 7 p.m. in the Ablondi Room in the Memorial Building.

The meeting will open with a presentation by Noah Berger from the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center about how the state's budget is built.  Residents are encouraged to come with their budget priorities for delegation to hear.

The forum comes in advance of the release of the Massachusetts House of Representatives budget on April 11. Once the House budget is released, legislators have about one week to file amendments.

To find more information on the budget in advance of the meeting, residents are encouraged to visit browser.massbudget.org, which allows users to search current and past budgets by line item or key word or phrase or to visit malegislature.gov/budget for information on the budget process.

For residents who cannot attend the meeting, you can submit opinions to Sannicandro’s website tomworksforus.com/mybudgetpriorities.

As he did last year, Sannicandro will be live blogging the House budget debate during the last week of April on his website tomworksforus.com and on Twitter at tsannicandro.
