Stacy Scott will start his job as the new Framingham Superintendent of Schools on July 1. Scott, who is currently is the Dracut School Superintendent, was voted unanimously to be the new school leader by the School Committee in February.
Last week, the School Committee and Scott agreed to a contract and both signed it. Monday night, the Framingham School Committee voted 5-0 to ratify the contract.
Scott's contract is July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2015. The contract can be extended by an additional year after two years of performance, said Hugo.
The contract starts with a salary of $200,000 and can increase based on performance, said Hugo. Scott makes $152,000 as the Dracut Superintendent.
Scott will receive 25 paid vacation days and 20 sick days.
Scott will receive a $5,000 annuity in fiscal year 2013. It increases to $7,500 in fiscal year 2014 and $10,000 in fiscal year 2015.
Scott will receive a $5,000 longevity payment, said Hugo in his fourth year and another $5,000 in his fifth and sixth years.
He will be provided $5,000 to attend professional conferences and a $5,000 auto allowance.
Hugo said Superintendent Steven Hiersche and Scott have already begun conversations for a smooth transition. Hiersche got Scott a ticket to the 20th Annual Salute To Framingham, said Hugo.
Hiersche was named a finalist to be the next Melrose Superintendent of Schools last week. He announced in August that he would not return at the end of his 3-year contract, which ends June 30.
Hiersche was given a $200,000 contract, when hired as superintendent in 2009 from the Watertown School District, where he was earning about $160,000.

When our taxes are getting jacked through the roof you're going to pay $200,00.00 plus for this position? What are you thinking?

Go back to Dracut. You will find out that they are all HAPPY that he is gone. Good luck Framingham. You should really check references.
