My condolences to Newtown, but our selectmen are idiots and should be replaced.

The problem isn't with guns, it's with mentally ill people not getting the help they need and people who keep guns in a house with a mentally ill person!

2009 England had 39 murders by firearms. In the US the number was 9146. The difference between the 2 countries? An outdated Ammendment written in 1789. Still think guns arent a problem? Bet your opinion would change if you or a member of your family is a victim of a crime comitted with a gun. Sadly the odds are getting better everyday.

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/immediately-address-issue-gun-control-through-introduction-legislation-congress/2tgcXzQC. because I will never be convince that military grade assault rifles/ammo. and lg capacity cartridges are intended in our 2nd Amendment Rights. Mental Health Services do need improvement but realize this includes the paranoid "preppers" who are "egged on" by Gun manufacturers, violent Video games, War mongering, Money mongering & Fear mongering. It's creating a culture of young who are learning to value power in Gun Control and not in Human Life. We have a huge problem it's Cultural and it's being driven by the almighty dollar. It's not going to be simple rather complex multi faceted problem to deal with. Denying that guns have any part in these deaths is absolutely irresponsible. IMO

The real problem is an18 year old with mental issues being able to receive a clear record as an adult. Slate is wiped clean. You're lookig for one big bandaid to cover various individual problems. Guns don't shoot themselves. People kill people. In Chicago there 42 murders a week and Chicago has the strictous guns law in the country. By the way what else in the bill of rights would you like to get rid of?

Walt the United States is the only country where havin a gun is a right. I dont want to get rid of them. But if you cant agree that the 2nd Ammendment in its spirit does not apply to modern times then what is there to talk about? It needs to be updated. Guns should be denied to more people. Gun shows need to be abolished. There are already more places in this country to buya gun than there are supermarkets and McDonalds...combined! Actually more than twice as many.

And when alcohol was abolished, there were not any more alcohol, correct. Can someone quote statistics on which causes more deaths. And since drinking and driving is a crime, we stop people at their first offence, right.

Yes drinking and driving is a crime...and yes people are arrested on their first offense. So what is your point? Alcohol is not produced to kill people. It is abused..people go to jail for drinking and driving. And because you asked...in 2010 there were 10,228 deaths due to dui...over 34000 due to gun violence. So there ya go!
