Senator Spilka Named Assistant Majority Whip

Spilka gave up her position as chair of the joint committee on economic development for her new leadership role in the Senate.

 

Sen. Karen Spilka, who represents Framingham, was named assistant majority whip. The Democrat from Ashland, had to give up her position as chair of the joint committee on economic development, as well as other senate positions.

Her new position was part of a leadership change by Senate President Therese Murray, who represent Plymouth, following the department of assistant majority leader Steven Tolman, reported the Boston Herald.
