'Small' Fire at Hemenway Hall on University Campus

Once carbon dioxide levels were tested and deemed safe, students and staff were allowed back in the building, reported University Police.

 

A small fire was reported inside Hemenway Hall on the campus of Framingham State University at 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Framingham Fire Department and Framingham State University Police were both on the scene, as he hall was evacuated.

According to University Police, "the fire started in Hemenway Lab Room 313." The fire was contained to the lab.

Framingham Fire described the fire as “small and isolated," according to University Police. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Once carbon dioxide levels were tested and deemed safe, students and staff were allowed back in the building, said Framingham State University Police.

There were no injuries.

Room 313 is still closed.
