Tickets on Sale for 2nd Annual Taste of MetroWest

This region-wide event showcases food and beverages from the area’s finest restaurants, caterers, gourmet and ethnic markets, wineries, brew houses and local purveyors of fine liquors.

Almost 1,000 people attended the first-ever Taste of MetroWest sponsored by the  MetroWest Chamber of Commerce. The event was so successful, that the chamber will hold the 2nd Annual Taste of MetroWest Tuesday, March 13 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center.

This region-wide event will showcase delectable food and beverages from the area’s finest restaurants, caterers, gourmet and ethnic markets, wineries, brew houses and local purveyors of fine liquors.

In addition to food and beverage providers, local civic and cultural institutions, entertainment and sports venues and community-based nonprofits are invited to participate in this event.

“The goal is to provide an opportunity for people throughout the MetroWest region to sample all that is wonderful about this region – to get a true 'taste' of what really makes MetroWest great,” said Bonnie Biocchi, president and CEO of the MetroWest Chamber.

Along with the Chamber, sponsors are Framingham State University, MassBay Community College and MetroWest Medical Center.

And to make the "Taste of MetroWest" as green as possible, the Chamber is working with Bryan Sheehan of Symbiosis Sustainability Consulting to ensure that every effort will be made to reduce, recycle and reuse in support of this initiative.

Taste attendees will vote for the “People’s Choice” awards in different categories, giving the guests the final say as to who is the “Best of MetroWest."

Tickets are $25 and are on sale now. Visit the Taste of MetroWest website at www.tasteofmetrowest.org for up-to-the minute information and a list of participating exhibitors.

The MetroWest Chamber of Commerce serves the communities of Ashland, Framingham, Holliston, Hopkinton, Natick, Sherborn, Southborough, Sudbury, Wayland and Westborough.

Last year when this took place I was very surprised the MCC took on this event because I went to the event every year prior to support the Framingham Education Foundation who had been running this event. What happened? Why did the FEF let this successful fundraiser they had started get taken over by the MCC? Just curious.
