VIDEO: Irish Company Opens Office in Framingham

Irish-based engineering firm to add 100-plus jobs, over the next two years. DPS Biometrics opened Framingham Office on Monday.

DPS Biometics opened its Framingham office at 959 Concord St. on Monday, with a large audience comprised of employees, community and business leaders.  An Irish-based engineering company, DPS Biometics provides architectural, engineering and validation services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. 

“This is a strategically important investment for DPS and is founded on the wealth of biopharmaceutical talent in the New England area” said Rep. Chris Walsh.  

Dr. Susan Windham-Bannister, President & CEO of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center spoke of the importance of companies like DPS Biometics in supporting the aims of the 10 year $1 billion state initiative to grow the Massachusetts Life Sciences Super- Cluster.

DPS Engineering employs over 400 people in its six offices in Ireland, the Netherlands, Singapore the Middle East and now Framingham. The company plans to double its turnover to $100m in 2015.

Michael Lonergan the Irish Consul General to Boston made the point that job creation was a "Two-way street," citing the fact that over 85,000 Irish people are employed in US multi-nationals in Ireland and over 80,000 Americans are employed in Irish Multi-nationals in the US.  “DPS Biometics’ new office in Framingham will add significantly to the Irish tally.”

Puja Mehta, district and constituent services director, spoke on behalf of  Sen. Karen Spilka’s office and congratulated DPS on its choice of Framingham, offered support and wished DPS success in its venture.

The event was also attended by other state and local officials including:  Rep. David Linsky, Rep. Tom Sannicandro, Selectman Charlie Sisitsky, CEO and President Bonnie Biocchi, several chamber board members,  Arthur Robert from the Massachusetts Office of Business Development, Conor McGauran of the Irish Development Authority and Eddie Goodwin of Enterprise Ireland.

DPS Biometics is the result of the acquisition of Biometics LLC of Framingham Boston, by DPS Engineering Ltd a renowned Irish A/E company operating for over 30 years. Clients include Pfizer, Genzyme, Merck, Eli LIlly and J&J.
