Looking ahead after last week's win over Braintree, Walpole Head Coach Barry Greener said that a tough Framingham team would give them a run for their money Friday night.

He wasn't kidding.

The Rebels were tied with Framingham, 21-21, in the fourth quarter before running back Cam Hanley scored on a four-yard run up the gut to give Walpole a 27-21 lead, after a botched PAT attempt, with 2:24 to go in the game.

Framingham, who had been clicking offensively all night, wasn't done as they drove to the Rebel 34 yard line with 1:28 left in the quarter.

On second down the Flyers needed one yard to pick up a first down. The Rebels defense would have the final say, however, as they stopped Framingham on three straight plays to take over on downs.

Walpole relied on several of their playmakers offensively to fend off the Flyers.

Chris Collins, Cam Hanley, Mike Rando and Steve Thulin all had touchdowns for Walpole.

For the Flyers, running back Matthew Cronin led the way with a touchdown reception and a punt return for a touchdown. Quarterback Christopher Bloomingdale scored on a quarterback sneak from the Walpole 9 yard line.

The Rebels are now 2-0. Framingham (1-1) will play their first home game against Newton North Saturday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m.
