What Did You Think of Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick's DNC Speech?

The Massachusetts governor had delegates on their feet Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, but did his speech resonate with you? Let us know by posting a comment below.

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick came out firing Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, attacking his predecessor Mitt Romney's record in the Bay State.

"Mitt Romney talkes a lot about all the things he's fixed," he said. "I can tell you that Massachusetts wasn't one of them. He's a fine fellow and a great salesman, but as governor he was more interested in having the job than doing it."

By the end of his speech, which touched on President Barack Obama's first-term accomplishments, the economy, role of government and the American Dream, Patrick had the packed crowd of delegates on their feet and in a frenzy, but we want to know:

How did Patrick's speech play here in Massachusetts? Were you a fan of the governor's remarks? Or did his words fall on deaf ears?

Deval Patrick's speech was one of the best I've heard him deliver. At the end of it, I heard some rhetorical devices that reminded me of Ted Kennedy's impassioned and spirited exhortations on the issues he cared most about. I am proud of what Deval has done.

I am not proud of how Mitt Romney lies about Welfare to work, and how he campaigned against Mass residents in 2008 across the USA, calling us vegetarians as if that's some unpalatable characteristic. I get the idea that the poster boy for the looting of American will say anything to get elected. Kennedy was right, Mitt is a good salesman but you'd be buying a pig in a poke.

I've never seen him this revved up before. Even during his own election, he was much more low key. It was a nice change. And I agree, Democrats do need to grow a backbone, if nothing else but to put away the criminals who defrauded the banking system.

I agree with Joy and Neil. Patrick's tenure as Govenor has gotten better overall. It definitely started poorly, and I wish he would worry more about his state than future office aspirations. But he has done the job in a difficult time. I will always wish that people of BOTH parties grow a backbone and tell us how they really feel! I'm tired of politicians just carrying the water for their party. Be different!
